What is digital art

What is digital painting?

Modern technology has opened up a whole new way of delivering fine art. My digital paintings are still hand painted, in the same way they always were with oils, but now there are new technologies that deliver results enabling us to go further and offer more than could be achieved before.

With the advent of modern technology: computers, laser printing processes, material finishes, surface coatings, infinite colour selection all embrace ways in which we can achieve the very highest of fine art standards.

Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a graphics tablet and stylus (pen).

There are a number of digital art forms, those that use computer generated art by creating models or modifying photographs and there is nothing wrong with that, it's just not the way I paint. I still paint the old way using painting techniques learnt over the years to create every stroke you see to create the digital painting directly on the computer.
